Koroneiki Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Greece

Price range: $24.00 through $29.00

Single-estate Greek Koroneiki, early harvested and cold extracted within hours — grassy and artichoke-fresh with a peppery oleocanthal finish. Balanced enough to cook with every day, good enough to drink straight.

Description

Koroneiki is the small Greek olive behind some of the world’s most decorated extra virgin olive oil, and this is a single-estate example — 100% Koroneiki, early harvested, and cold extracted within hours of picking so almost nothing is lost between the grove and the bottle.

It pours fresh and vibrant: grassy on the nose with a clear artichoke note, a smooth, balanced entry, and a peppery catch at the back of the throat on the finish. That pepper is oleocanthal, the natural anti-inflammatory compound found in fresh, high-polyphenol oil. Lab analysis puts this oil at roughly 578 mg/kg polyphenols with 0.17% free fatty acid and over 77% oleic acid — numbers that give it premium extra virgin status, and the reason it stays stable and flavourful for two years or more when stored properly.

It is a genuinely versatile kitchen oil, not a bottle to save for special occasions. Drizzle it over salads, vegetables and dips; use it for everyday cooking, sautéing and grilling; finish pasta, meats and seafood with it; or take a spoonful straight if you are drinking your olive oil for the health benefits. Pair it with a bold aged balsamic for a bread-dipping duo that tastes like a restaurant course.
